Parent and Child Forest School Sessions

The first session took place on Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon, everyone  had a great time and lots of fun was had. The parents and children took part in some pond dipping and fishing. We  even managed to catch a variety of creatures from frogspawn to tadpoles as well as some water snails. Children had opportunities to build relationships within the group whilst learning about  the rules and boundaries within Forest School. We are all looking forward to next weeks  sessions where we will be exploring the creatures and mini-beasts that live in the woods as we turn ourselves into Nature Detectives.

Eco within the Early Level

We have been using the story of Michael Recycle, written by Ellie Bethel to develop our knowledge of reducing, reusing and recycling within play experiences, both indoors and outdoors.

The children are taking their responsibility of ensuring the milk cartons are emptied and washed prior going into the recycling bin.

We used the large floor space at the creative area to sort and categorise the junk.

A skittle challenge was created by designing recycled bottles and a ball made of newspaper.
