Community Police Visit

Today, Leanne and Connor from the Community Police popped in to the school for a visit. In the gallery, you can see P5 learning all about anti-social behaviour.  Leanne and Connor did a great job of explaining to our children what anti-social behaviour is and how they deal with it as part of their day to day jobs.

The pupils also got a chance to look at the protective equipment that is used by the police force and some unlucky pupils even found themselves in handcuffs!

A VIP Visit!

In keeping with the theme of SAFE, Primary 1 pupils were visited by Ross, everyone’s favourite Crossing Guard!  Ross explained his job to the pupils and then happily answered all of their questions!

Ross carries our such an important job in our school community and prides himself on keeping us safe as we journey to and from school.

Thanks Ross…we all think you’re awesome!

Special Visitors

Each month, we focus on one of the ‘SHANARRI Indicators.’  This month, we have focused on ‘SAFE’ and our pupils have been learning a lot in class and at Assembly about keeping safe.

During some Pupil Consultation, our children asked for a visit from our local fire service.  Mrs McCulloch organised this for our pupils and last week three terrific firefighters, Tony, Liz and Willie, came to speak to the whole school at Assembly, where they explained the finer details of their jobs, and also answered questions our classes had prepared for them.

The fire engine was parked in our school playground so that all of our pupils could have a closer look, with a few lucky classes getting a full tour!

We were delighted to welcome these special visitors to our school and Mrs McCulloch was over the moon to receive an e-mail from our visitors who praised our children’s behaviour and manners, while also saying that they were made to feel like celebrities while visiting RPS!

Thank you so much for paying us a visit…we’ll see you again soon!
