Primary 1 had a fabulous time on World Book Day! We chose our favourite quotes from a variety of famous children’s stories and described our favourite literary characters in honour of World Book Day!
Last week we met some new faces- the lovely primary ones who will be joining us in August. They had great fun meeting our current primary 1 and primary 1/2, having a tour of the infant department and playing with their buddies.
P1/2 have been learning about the phoneme “ee”. We loved making an “ee” family to help us remember different ways to write the phoneme.
P1/2 performed an amazing assembly on Friday. We invited parents and carers along to watch and they were all very impressed. We were healthy heroes and taught everyone to be active, eat well and have good hygiene habits.
Primary 3/4 were learning all about Fairtrade and where chocolate comes from this week.
Primary 3/4 raised money for Kidney Kids Scotland by having a “Yellow and Blue Day” and a cake stall at school. We raised £303.60 for our charity. Thank you for all your support.

World Water Day 2016
Rights Tour of School

We will share with our school the importance of World Water Day.
We started to think about how our physical environment reflects learning about children’s rights.
|
We will present an assembly on World Water day. We will practice a role-play about a boy called Ryan who raised money to build wells in northern Uganda. Mrs Wilson will show a short Water aid video clip at assembly. We will host a school quiz on water knowledge during assembly.
We walked around our school making notes of all the areas in our school that are rights respecting. |
In Primary 3/4 we have been learning how to make hot chocolate, Mother’s Day cards and revolting recipes and then using these experiences to help us write instructions. 
Primary 3/4 have been learning all about Data Handling in maths. We can collect and sort data using a variety of diagrams and graphs. We even made a human Venn diagram in the playground.
