Origami lesson
These girls had fun learning origami with Mr Traquair. Didn’t they do well!
St Patrick Art
we have been celebrating St Patrick’s Day and have drawn pictures of our patron saint. Here is some of our work in progress.
World Book Day
Today is World Book Day and lots of children in the school have dressed up as characters from their favourite books! Here are some pictures from the children in Rooms 13 and 14 and a very special Dwarf family!
room 13’s trip to Tesco
Today room 13 went to Tesco. We went to help St Patrick’s win the Tesco grant. If we win this grant we can spend it on playground equipment. We have no playground equipment so in my opinion this will stop the fights out in the playground. We want to get all the support we can to make our playground more enjoyable to play at playtimes.
Spanish hair and eye colour
Primary 6/7 have been learning about hair and eye colour in Spanish.
Our S.C.I.A.F. assembly
Mark from S.C.I.A.F. came to our school and gave our senior pupils a task to do. We had to write prayers for the people of Africa who are hungry.
Mountain Landscapes
We have been creating mountain landscapes as part of our topic “The Giant of Thistle Mountain”.
Tesco Bags of Help Award!
Tesco has teamed up with greenspace scotland to launch its Bags of Help initiative across Scotland. The scheme will see three community groups and projects awarded grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag charge.
St Patrick’s Primary School has been selected to receive a reward and it’s now up to the shoppers at Tesco to vote for the winners! We would like to improve our playground by adding play equipment for our children. Please vote for us to get the £12,000 grant!
Bags of Help offers community groups and projects in each of Tesco’s regions across the UK a share of revenue generated from the five pence charge levied on single-use carrier bags.
The public will now vote in store from 27 February until 6 March on who should receive the £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 awards.

Hospice ambassadors
Today the children in primaries six and seven had a visit from Lynsey from St Andrew’s Hospice. She told us all about the Ambassador programme and how we could sign up to become ambassadors for the hospice. We are looking forward to carrying out lots of fundraising activities.
