Harvest assembly

On Thursday the 13th of October the whole school had worked hard and it was time to show off their talent at our Harvest assembly. We had three songs which were Conkers,  Plough the Fields and scatter and Harvest song. The P2’s shared their artwork with everyone then the P6’s shared their autumn poems. There was a funny bit as well when Mrs Woodward and Mrs McKenzie had a cook off but Mrs McKenzie wasn’t a good cook. There was a draw but Mrs McKenzie stole one of Mrs Woodward’s tomatoes .Mrs McKenzie made a smiley face and Mrs Woodward made chicken and ham wraps with cheese and also fruit and vegetable salad. It was soon over but it ended very dramatically, the fire alarm went of whilst Mrs Woodward was saying her speech. A few parents and grandparents were amused by the fire alarm noise and voice . Then we went back up to class and it was over. By Isla and Emma.

Hajj Pilgrimage

Muslims make a pilgrimage to Hajj at least once in their lives. We learned that a  Muslim pilgrimage is something that the Muslims have to make and we also wrote emails pretending we had been on  a pilgrimage. It  was so fun we got to write it to our friends or family via an email but we did it in our jotters we had to pretend the we were on an I pad or a phone. We also watched two video on Hajj, one was about a girl planning a journey to Mecca (you can watch this here). The other was about what Muslims do whilst on pilgrimage in Mecca (you can watch this here). We then created a a Hajj house drawing as it is common for Muslims in the Far East to paint their journeys on their house. By Ellie and Drew.

Child Smile

We had a visitor called Fiona who is a dental nurse she came to our class so we can brush our teeth. She gave us tooth brushes with a number on them so we know what tooth brush ours are. She came in because she wants to keep our teeth white and healthy and to keep brushing them we brush our teeth every day so that we have strong and healthy teeth. We brush our teeth in groups and we start brushing our teeth when we get to our chair. We have mint tooth past that tasted really good but remember not to swallow the tooth past because it is bad for you.

Look below at our star writers below and their big SMILES! 🙂
