Spectacular fun at the Science Centre!

P3 and P4/5 had a fantastic, fun trip to The Glasgow Science Centre today. P3 enjoyed a workshop based on Forces.

During our workshop we met up with two science experts who taught us about magnets, gravity, push and pull. We sorted items into two categories – magnetic and non magnetic. One of the things we learned was that the metal part of a clothes peg is magnetic but the wooden part isn’t. At the end of the workshop we had so much fun launching our rockets and watching gravity bring them back down to the ground!

For the rest of our time at the Science Centre we loved exploring the different activities around the rest of the building. We learned so much during each of the activities and enjoyed working with a partner to solve problems together.

Kayla – We learned that magnets have a north and south. The same sides of a magnet push each other away.

Katelyn – I loved going to the Science Centre and learned lots of things today.

Lewis – My favourite part of today was when we got to visit each floor of the Science Centre.

Cassidy – I learned that the red and blue parts of a magnet are called north and south.

Here is a video showing some of the fun learning we did today.
