Accessing Glow on Games Consoles

Hello everyone

I found these instructions that show you how to access Glow from your Xbox or Playstation. I thought this might be useful for those of you who have any of these consoles as it gives you another way to get onto Glow and have a look at what the teachers have been posting on the school website for you. There is also tutorials on Youtube that show you how to do this too. I have attached links for you below.

Have a nice day, missing you all!

Primary 4/5

Good Morning Boy and Girls,

I hope you all had a fun weekend and managed to get outside for a while to get some fresh air!

I have set another challenge on Sum Dog for you all, which I will continue to do each week focusing on different topics. Well done to the boys and girls who took part in last weeks challenge, lots of hard work.

As you know Easter is coming up. I have given you some video links to some fun Easter crafts that you can make at home using materials that you may have in your house like egg cartons, toilet roll holders or cereal boxes.

Hope your enjoying spending time at home with your families. Keep working away at your learning grids!

Take care and hopefully see you all soon.

Blair Drummond Safari Park

Hi everyone,

Blair Drummond Safari Park have been posting regular updates on their Facebook page with lots of videos and pictures of their animals. I even saw a video of the rhinos doing some daily exercises! (no account necessary, just search for them using Google).

They are live streaming from different enclosures every Thursday at 12 noon. These sessions are led by a keeper and are very informative. You can ask the keepers questions and they’ll try their best to answer them during the videos. They are also followed by a quiz on the animals.

Last week’s featured animals were the Red Ruffed Lemurs. You can go back and watch this session and quiz now if you missed it.

Take care!

Primary 5/6

Good Morning,

I hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed the lovely weather. I have set a new Sumdog Challenge this week focusing on Addition and Subtraction. I will set different challenges each week! Every Friday I will open the house during school hours. You should continue to choose tasks on your home learning grid and if you have any questions remember just to leave a comment on here. I will get back to you as soon as possible!

Since we have had lovely weather I am going to attach two scavenger hunts. One will be for indoors and the other is for doing outdoors. This can be done during a daily walk. Remember to wash your hands after the outdoor hunt!

I hope you enjoyed Oti Mabuse dance lesson if you took part on Friday. Remember these are on every day from 11:30.

Have a great week,

Miss Jones

Good Morning !

Hi Everyone

Hope you are all doing well and managing to come up with lots of fun things to do indoors and are enjoying some time out in fresh air too -even if only once a day for now! Hope our children are behaving for their families too! I am certainly missing them all!

Hope all of our families entitled to free school meals managed to access the new system OK when you received your texts. This should have started on Friday.

We should be doing our usual Easter Challenges – so if any of you are able to make a boiled egg model or a bonnet please take a photo of them and I ll see them when we are back at school. It might be tricky to get craft stuff – so drawings would be lovely too! What fabulous and creative ideas will you come up with this year?

Take care and stay safe everyone

Primary 2/3 30/3/20

Good Morning boys and girls (parents and guardians too!)
It is lovely to be seeing more sun isn’t it?
Here’s a link to a website with some easy to make Spring arts and crafts activities. Lots can be made from ‘junk’ you might have lying about like old milk cartons or cereal boxes.

Spring Crafts for Kids – Art and Craft Project Ideas for All Ages

If you have been out playing in your garden or taking part in a daily exercise outside, you could try to fill out a Senses worksheet as you go. What can you see, smell, touch, taste and hear? I’ve attached a worksheet you might want to use, or you could just have a chat with someone at home about it while enjoying some sun.

My Five Senses Walk Worksheet

I have also set you a challenge on Sum Dog.

Take care,

Miss Bennett

Good Morning Boys and Girls

I hope you had a nice relaxing weekend and are ready to try some more activities from your Home Learning sheet.

I have set a new challenge for you on Sumdog where you will be asked questions about Money and Time while you are playing games. You need to get 50 questions right to earn some coins! Have a look at some of the Daily Live Events that Mr Henderson posted last week. I have been trying to do Joe Wicks workouts every day and they are really hard but a lot of fun! Why don’t you have a go too?

I have also attached a sheet with some ideas of Spring/Easter activities you could do at home too. There are some instruction sheets attached that go with the activities on the sheet. Have a look by clicking on the links below (they should open as a Word document) and let me know how you get on if you try to do any of these.

Remember to stay safe, have fun and keep in touch!

P7 30/3/20

Good morning P7! I am missing you all and hope you are all well.

Challenges this week: I have set a new Sumdog challenge for you to try at home. I have also made some revision spelling words lists for each of your groups, and it contains a daily spelling challenge for you:  P7 Spelling Revision 30:3:2020

Did any of you try the Joe Wicks workouts? I have heard many stories from parents, carers (and teachers!) who have been very sore after attempting them! If you’d prefer something different then there are kids dance lessons every day at 11.30am on YouTube from Strictly’s Oti Mabuse. I tried one this morning to test it out and it was pretty fun. You can even do it wearing your onesie! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Btxws8qvYAA

Take care.
