Ollie the Octopus!
Meet Ollie the Octopus, our Rights Respecting School Mascot. The R.R.S Committee set a challenge for the whole school to design a mascot to represent the journey we are on to become a Rights Respecting School.
The winner was Christian Gillespie a former Primary 7 who created Ollie with the slogan ‘We’re Oll in this Together!’ We thought it summed our journey up perfectly! This has also led to our Under the Sea theme that can be seen throughout the whole school.
We then had Ollie made in to 2 stuffed teddies, 1 for the school and 1 for the nursery. He has been made to feel very welcome and is right at home at New Monkland Primary and Nursery. Ollie will be going on our rights journey with us and we love having him as part of our school and nursery.
