Writing to the Water Company.

After researching information about dams yesterday, the community of Clear Blue Valley received a letter to inform them that the dam is now being built in their community!!

They are writing persuasive letters to the water company (and some important people 😏) to convince them to move their dam somewhere else.

The children are using their notes from yesterday to support their argument.

A Stranger Arrives.

A stranger arrived in Clear Blue Valley very upset. The community helped her but are now worried about the future of their beautiful valley.

Tomorrow they are going to research dams and see how they can use this knowledge to help them.

There were some fantastic questions being asked to our stranger. The community really helped find out her worries and then shared some of their own during “Thought Tracking”.

A Day in the Life of Clear Blue Valley

The children took on their roles this afternoon to mime a typical morning in Clear Blue Valley.

They created still images and a whole class tableu.

“We need our community to be nice and safe, that’s why we have to all do jobs.”

“We’ve been learning to use our actions and hands instead of talking.”

Primary 7 Enterprise Task with Airdrie Academy

Primary 7 were asked to take part in an Enterprise task with S5 at Airdrie Academy. The S5 pupils wrote a story that will be published and they asked if we could illustrate the story for them, which means, if we are chosen our illustrations will feature in the book also. This is being supported by APEX ENTERPRISE! Have a look to see us creating some of the illustrations. The title of the book is: The Lion and the Mouse…

Woodland Adventures

Woodland Explorers

Group 3 – Week 1

We were all very excited this morning……..WE WERE GOING TO THE WOODS!!  When we arrived at the site we learned different ways to stay safe e.g. the purpose of the boundaries and practised playing a safety game called ‘123 Where Are You?’.  We were very good at remembering all the new things we had learned to stay safe.

We had a very busy morning.  Using binoculars and magnifying glasses we explored the site and discovered lots of interesting features……..red paw prints on the tree trunks (someone thought it was a jaguar which had climbed to the top of the tree looking for meat to eat), a VERY muddy puddle (we had lots of fun jumping in it!) and lots of interesting holes at the bottom of the trees (we thought rabbits and slugs might stay in them at night).

We all worked together to gather sticks to rebuild a bug hotel which had fallen apart.  We placed lots of sticks on top of each other for the little creatures to live in and even added some leaves and pinecones to make it more comfy for them.
