Week 3 of Gardening Club

This week at Gardening Club we continued to prepare our ground for planting.  We also got to plant some beautiful flowers as well as some herbs (Rosemary, Sage and Thyme.) We are looking forward to watching them grow and learning more about growing herbs ☺️

Gardening Club

Today was our first day at Gardening Club!  The boys and girls spoke about what they would like to learn over the next few weeks. We then went outside and took some weeds out of our outdoor area outside the playroom. We found some worms and we were so excited!  We can’t wait until next week 🙂

Out of Hours Learning

We have been very lucky this year to offer a variety of Out of Hours Learning activities right across the school. In consultation with the children, some of our more popular clubs have run for two consecutive terms. We will endeavour to continuosly increase the number of opportunities we provide.

In addition, some of our Primary Six children have taken part in a pilot scheme to become Junior Sports Leaders. They have learned how to run a mini- club at lunchtimes and then put this into practise by offering it to the Primary One and Two Children. Currently we have nine children who have successfully participated in the Junior Sports Leaders programme. These children offer activities to children on a Monday and a Friday each week. We plan to roll this initiative out further due to its success.

Some of our Out of Hours Learning clubs include:

Football (junior)

Football (senior)

Netball

Multi Sports

Homework

Eco

FairTrade

International Schools

Rota

Pupil Council
