The Importance of Hand Washing!

The boys and girls in primary four have been discussing, and demonstrating, the importance of hand washing so we don’t spread germs and get sick.

To show how germs can spread, the children all touched a piece of bread without washing their hands. We then displayed this piece of bread against a clean piece.

Look at our results after one week of carrying out the experiment. We make sure we’re  super hand washers now ;).

Big Cats in P4

Primary Four are learning about Big Cats in their new interdisciplinary context, and thoroughly enjoying it.

Today, the boys and girls drew tigers freehand and then used their collage skills to create the tiger’s natural habitat around the edge. Don’t they look fabulous?

Fact(s) of the day: Did you know the Tiger lives in South – Asia?
Did you know the tiger is the heaviest, strongest                                     and most powerful of the Big Cats?

Primary 4’s Week

Primary 4 have been working very hard all week.
The boys and girls have been learning more about the Titanic and designed the ship using Word at ICT time. We chose whether we were a 1st, 2nd or 3rd class passenger and packed a suitcase with what we would take on the maiden voyage. Our wall is looking fabulous. Don’t you agree?
We are working hard on our tables and played a new game using a beach ball. It was lots of fun and helped us learn our tables.
To finish off our week, we discussed what our ambitions are and wrote about what we want to do when we are older.

Well done, primary four, you have all worked so hard this week.

Have a well deserved, relaxing weekend.

Fairtrade

Today some of the Fairtrade Committee met and got started on planning their assembly.

Did you know Fairtrade Fortnight begins on the 29th of February – 13th March, and this year’s theme is “Breakfast”.

We are planning some fun activities to raise awareness of this great foundation.

Keep your eye out for more photos of the great wok the boys and girls undertake.

Captain E. Smith

Primary four have been learning more about the Titanic this week. We’re a big fan of Captain E. Smith, and we had a big discussion about who was to blame for the sinking of the Titanic. Seven children thought that the Captain was to blame and most children thought the officers in the Marconi room were at fault.  It was a very hard decision to make.

Here are some pictures of our brilliant Captain Smith painted by the children.

Snow Much Fun in P4 :)

This morning the boys and girls in primary four were working super hard so as a treat we went outside and had a snowman competition.

The children worked in teams to make the best snowman out on our decking area. They had lots of fun!
