Primary 5 have been investigating what materials dissolve in water. We decided that to keep it a fair experiment each material would only be given 1 minute to dissolve. We also decided to try dissolving the materials in hot and cold water to find out whether the temperature of the water any effect. The materials dissolved were –
- flour
- sugar
- salt
- bath salts
- bath bomb
- icing sugar
Before dissolving the materials the children predicted whether or not the material would dissolve.
The children were surprised with the results but all agreed that if they were to repeat the experiment then they would change time given.
