Rhymes in Nursery
One of the rhymes we have been having fun learning is called Friends are Special.
We have been great at remembering the words and like the tune, it’s Frere Jacques. Below are some pictures of us singing this simple song to our friends. A huge thank you from Mrs Cumming for spending time working on this at home, all staff have remarked at the growing confidence in our learners whilst performing to others.
Learning at Home – What you have been busy doing
We are delighted to hear about the settings that have been created at home with fuzzy felts and also that some of you have been researching the web for other rhymes that interest your child such as ponies and horses. Please let us know if you would like some websites or apps to try. We would also like you to share your great ideas with us too.
Using rhyme props at home is a great idea, you can use your own toys to act out rhymes like 5 Currant Buns or 5 Wee Monkeys. A big thank you to those who have printed out some photos for your child to inspire others to try this fun rhyme too. Mrs Cumming was delighted to see what fun you had.
Here is a little ghost that met Mrs White in our rhyme book we loved hearing you sing it for us, during Show and Tell we also loved listening to Horsey Horsey. A lovely highland cow visited us and we watched a super performance of Old McDonald, Well Done! We found a lovely setting of green grass for the horses you brought in. We awarded special rhyme achievement stickers today as we are proud of you.
We also enjoyed hearing your favourite childhood book memories during World Book Day. As adults the warm memories that you shared were really great. Thank You. It was great to hear that Meggie Moon was a nursery favourite for other children now at school. We have been using our imaginations to create models just like Meggie Moon here are some for you to look at.
