Transition
Moving to a different building, or even a different playroom within the same nursery, can be daunting for children, whatever age they are.
We ensure that robust transition programmes are set for individual children to support them emotionally when making a transition from home to nursery, playroom to playroom and from nursery to primary.
All parents/carers will be made aware of when children are making a transition from playroom to playroom and we will involve you every step of the way.
Some children take longer than others to adapt and settle into new surroundings, so it is important that we observe children who are making transitions within nursery to ensure we are offering the appropriate level of support. This can be frustrating for a parent/carer at times if your child is taking longer than others to settle, but every child is as unique as the next, so please be patient as adapting to new surroundings, staff, routines and other children takes time.
