The Green Group have been learning about animals

The children have been learning about a range of animals, where they live, what they like to eat and can identify their patterns.  We have been working hard to copy and create our own patterns.  We have also been using our imagination to create our own zoo/animal park and taking on the role of the Zoo Keeper, ensuring our animals are fed.  We have been participating in movement games like Funky Monkey and Old McDonald’s Farm, and are able to co-ordinate our bodies and make good attempts to move like the animals.  We had fun catching some fish and were able to count how many fish we caught and sort and group them according to their pattern.

Baby massage

Thank you to all the parents who have been coming along to our weekly Baby Massage sessions.  These sessions have given parents the time to relax and spend one to one bonding time with their baby.  We regularly run these sessions so if you or anyone you know would like to join a session then please speak to Shirley or Charlene.

Halloween fun

The children enjoyed various Halloween experiences at the creative area.  We ducked for apples, decorated pumpkins and created Halloween shapes using playdough.

Play on Pedals

The children in the Green and Blue Groups have been participating in our play on pedals initiative.  They have been learning the names of the bike parts and are able to match the pictures to the correct part of the bike with ease.  The children have also been learning how to keep safe on a balance bike and the importance of wearing a helmet.  We have been practising our balance techniques by walking the plank and we have also introduced a few games to ensure we know how to stop and manoeuvre our bikes safely while having fun.

Little Critters Visit

The children have been learning about dinosaurs and other animals and we would like to thank all our parents and carers for supporting their learning and contributing to the cost of the ‘Little Critters’ visiting the children yesterday.  The children were very excited and have been busy recalling the experience with their peers and recording their learning of the experience. Even though some children were expecting tigers and lions to visit, they were very pleased with the animals that visited the nursery.
