Enrolment
We understand that there is a lot of information given to you at enrolment, but this is essential information that is going to help us get to know each other and also assist you in learning what happens in nursery and our routines. If you need clarification on anything, please ask a member of staff or refer to the nursery handbook you have been given at enrolment. You can also access the handbooks by following the link on the toolbar of the blog page.
0-3 Years
Children aged 0-3 years who are placed within our Bunny Room (0-2’s) and Rainbow Room (2-3’s) have their enrolments completed as part of a home visit. This is arranged by the nursery to meet our youngest children in their home environment where they are most comfortable.
3-5 Years
The majority of our enrolments are completed in the summer period for new children and families who are starting nursery in August and September of that year. Other enrolments are completed throughout the year before children’s start dates.
School Enrolment
In January of each year children who are due to start school should be enrolled at the primary school which serves their catchment area. However, parents may exercise the right to make a placing request to another school of their choice. Information regarding placing requests is available at your local school.
Enrolment dates are advertised in the nursery, local press and in local churches.
A programme of induction for new entrants and their parents is on-going from April until June to ensure a comfortable transfer into primary one and also to inform and advise parents. The nursery also plan a specific transition programme for children going to primary 1 to support them.
