A little update to let you all know what we have been doing during the rest of our Eco week… Sports Day – We went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather to keep ourselves healthy. We all took part in a variety of events such as: hurdles, running, long jump, bowls amongst others. We enjoyed working hard and were very tired by the end! Quiz – P3 – 7 worked
We are currently in the midst of a very exciting Eco week, a full week dedicated to Eco, Health and Fairtrade. The whole school has been involved in a variety of exciting activities. We started our week with a lot of our classes braving the weather to upgrade our playground. P3 and P4 worked together to carry out some weeding and planted some very kind donations from parents and ASDA.
This week we were very grateful and honoured to be invited to sing alongside the Glasgow Philharmonic Male Choir. We got a bus and travelled over to the City Halls in Glasgow. After our sound checks our choir performed alongside the professional singers. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and the guests have commented on how great we sounded. Muirhouse Primary hosted the annual Christmas Fayre on Friday 28th November. The Parent Fundraisers have been working hard for months organising this fantastic event. We had cake stalls, raffles, tombola, craft stalls and lots more! Recently, we have been lucky enough to work with Motherwell College. Different classes have worked on different skills like badminton, football and athletics. Every class has really enjoyed working with the students and are hoping to continue practsing their skills as the weeks go on.
P2 were given the opportunity to participate in an exciting day of exercise thanks to Motherwell college. Motherwell college students were their to teach lots of different skills and play lots of fun games. There was a para-shoot, rudgy crash pads, nets, skipping ropes and man other activites. Primary 1, 2 and 3 from both Muirhouse Primary and St Brendan’s Primary had a very fun afternoon watching ‘The Magic of Road Safety Show’. The magicians showed them lots of different tricks and taught them a lot about how to stay safe on the road. They taught the children that green means go, amber is there to be seen and red means STOP!
During our Katie Morag topic the Primary 2’s had a very special visitor. Seren and her Mummy came in to talk to all the primary 2 pupils. Seren’s mummy explained all of the things that a baby needs and answered all our questions. We found out about how to feed a baby, how to dress a baby and how difficult it is too look after a baby.
