🎬Movie Night Task 🎬

💗St. Joseph’s  Parish Task 💗

It would lovely if everyone could complete this task for Father Kenny and Father Rooney.

Next Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, and it will be time to redecorate the church, thank you to all those who contributed Rainbows we are now looking for some new artwork.

We would ask you to draw, and colour in love hearts. We would also ask you to write the names of the people that you love on these love hearts. This time of lockdown has meant all of us have had to readjust our lives and we have realised different priorities which includes the different people in our lives past and present. So I think it would be good to remember those people.

You do not have to be the best artist we will provide a love heart to download, or draw your own. This is for all people young and old as well, lets get our church looking bright for Pentecost the birthday of the Church. Once you have done them you can drop them through the door or email them over to us and we can print them here.

Many thanks in advance.

Father Kenny and Father Daniel.

Measurement

Maths

We are continuing with our measure topic this week. I know it is difficult at home to do this as well as we would in class but we can touch upon it and “have a go!”

Today you will need a ruler. We are going to look at measuring today in centimetres (cm). This is a standard unit of measure so unlike last week everyone answers will be the same as we are using the same measurement.

measure powerpoint

Play this powerpoint before completing task. This will help remind you how we use a ruler to measure in cm.

measure Primary 1

Primary 1 – complete the task above.

P2 Measure

Primary 2 – complete the task above.

Once again boys and girl the link is just appearing and not the activity. Once you click on the link it will take you to your activity.

Sumdog

Log into sumdog and complete some of our challenges.

Have a great day!

Happy measuring!

Thursday 21st May 2020

Good morning boys and girls,

I hope you have all hd a good week so far and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine yesterday.

Today’s tasks:

Literacy – Grammar

Listen to the story “The Smartest Giant in Town” again. This is an excellent story. We have spent time learning about adjectives and verbs. Remember what the job of each type of this word is? An adjective is a describing word and a verb is a doing word. We also in school spent a lot of time on rhyming words especially Primary 1 and this book has lots of rhyming words too.

Primary 1

Can you make a list of rhyming words from this story, there are lots so you don’t need to write them all but have a go at finding and writing as many as you can. Remember you can pause the video the way we would do in class so you can write each word down – this will help.

Write a sentence from the story which has an adjective in it.

Primary 2

Can you make a list of as many adjectives and verbs that are in the story. Remember you can pause the video as you write them down. There are lots in it so I am not looking for them all just as many as you can.

You don’t have to write all the rhyming words down but when you hear them tell yourself that they are rhyming words to keep that fresh in your head.

Write a short paragraph, could be another extra paragraph or part to the story which includes adjectives and verbs about George or other characters in the story.

Art and  Design

The mice in the story made a house in George’s shoe. Can you design  house in your favourite shoe?

Maths

I will attach a measure activity in a separate post boys and girls.

Sorry  I am later uploading your tasks today, my internet has been very slow this morning.

I hope you all have a great day.
