Infant Quiz
The Enterprise team successfully organised a quiz afternoon for our infants to raise money for our school funds. The infants had to work together in teams to answer maths, literacy and general knowledge questions. Greg was the quiz master and did a fantastic job. All the children had a great time and congratulations to the winning team – The 5 Amigos!

Airdrie School Cup
Last week the p6/7s went to the Airdrie Schools Cup. We were competing to win the Fair Play Award. We worked hard to play as a team. Half way through it got called off because of the rain. They showed us a presentation about the old and new Airdrie Schools Cup. It was interesting. On Thursday we had a visit from Mr Marshall and Kirsty from Active Schools. She had good news

The Visit from Ziggy and Speeding Ted
We had some special visitors called Speeding Ted and Ziggy. The JRSO’s showed room 1 and 2 how to be safe on the roads and near construction. All the children had a great time with the special visitors. We got the children involved by having one of them dress up as our lollypop lady Mary. The Fire Brigade
The fire brigade came and taught us about secondary fires today. They where telling us about the danger of secondary fires. They said a lit cigarette can set fire to a sofa in one minute we all found it fascinating. The firemen asked us to spread awareness of secondary fires, They asked us not to do prank calls because there could be a more important emergency.

Easter Assembly
Today we visited Kirk O’Shotts church for our Easter Service. We had been practising our songs and today we got to do it for real. Lots of parents turned up to see us and we performed well. We had to brave the snow storm, lovely spring weather indeed! This is the second time we have visited the church and it will be the last this year.

Divided City
This term we have been reading Divided City by Theresa Breslin. The book is about how Glasgow is divided between Catholic and Protestant. Two boys from different sides come together to help each other through difficult times. We are almost finished the book and it has been a really good read. The book gives you an inside view to what the dark side of Glasgow can be like when one

Handball
On the 18th march 2015 primary 5/6 and 7 went to a hand ball tournament at Ravenscraig. We did very well and we always kept our heads up. We were joint 2nd in group 3 and we were all really proud of ourselves. The coaches always commented on our behaviour and how well we played. We all won a medal and a certificate. Quiz
Room 7 went to a quiz in St Patricks. At the interval we were in 4th place and then… We came back. In the end we came in 1st place! We were all very proud and so was Miss King.
