Last Friday primary 6/7 took part in St Patricks rotary quiz in Shotts. The team was Jamie, Emma, Abby and I. There were 8 rounds to the quiz and our best round was expressive arts. Even though we did good in that round sadly the same couldn’t be said about the maths round because we only got one of the questions right. At the interval we were 4th but we
Last Monday in the gym hall P1-7 had Rookie Rockstars. They teach you songs that the whole school will perform together. The songs are called Bullies ain’t Big, I’m so glad, Don’t Give Up, Let’s all be friends and Hey, Hey I’m ok. The whole school enjoyed it and it was really fun to do. 😉 By Reese Blackshaw
Today we have been practising our dancing for the Christmas party. We were dancing with Primary 4,6 and 7 because the P5 went swimming and some of the P6,7’s went to handball. Some of the P4’s didn’t know what to do because they only started. The dance’s that we did were Gay Gordon’s, Military two step and the dashing white sergeant. We had some special visitors called Speeding Ted and Ziggy. The JRSO’s showed room 1 and 2 how to be safe on the roads and near construction. All the children had a great time with the special visitors. We got the children involved by having one of them dress up as our lollypop lady Mary. Last week we were set a dramatic challenge! We were asked to script our own mini-plays based around an aspect of peer pressure and to demonstrate the negative effects/potential consequences of this. We worked extremely hard and all performed with confidence in front of the other members of the class. Some of us even made props! Here are a selection of photos from the afternoon.
We were very busy this afternoon, preparing for Christmas. We were practising songs, painting snowmen for one of the friezes to go in the hall, making Christmas cards and cutting out tiny, tiny snowflakes. It was a very productive afternoon. 🙂
We went to Motherwell Heritage Centre to learn more about our Romans topic. Our guide, Hugh taught us a lot about the Romans in Britain and the many things they introduced which are still in use today. We also learned about how they bathed, ate and lived. Did you know?….there are remains of Roman baths at Strathclyde Park and that Hadrians wall was built by the Romans!? In the afternoon
