HMIE follow up visit

As you will know, HMIE visited the school last week to follow up the areas for improvement identified at an earlier inspection. I am very pleased to report that they were very impressed with the progress made. A letter outlining their findings should be published just after Christmas.

Arden House Treat

Well done to everyone in Arden House who won the House treat for this term.  They had mini fitness and go kart sessions and had a fantastic time.

All parents and carers are invited to the Harvest Assembly. Please send a donation of non-perishable food or toiletries for the foodbank. P2/3/4 will be presenting their learning and there will be a parent tea afterwards. Soup

As part of our Developing the Young Workforce week, our P6/7 class visited Albert Bartletts.  Back in school we used the potatoes and onions we grew in our grounds to create our own soup.  It was great and we are now thinking of what we could make next.

World of Work Online

All P5-7 pupils have been on World of Work this week answering questions about their skills and personalities.  This information is saved and then gives them some career recommendations.  Children have been surprised by some of the options and are now thinking about wider career choices.

Cake Decorating

P2/3/4 had a visit from Mrs Murray today who creates her own cakes.  She showed them examples of her work and discussed what she enjoys about her job.  Pupils then had to create their own themed cupcakes.  They looked delicious.

Painting

A group of pupils started painting the boulders and rocks outside our school today with Mr Murray.  We painted them school colours red and white and we are hoping to paint our vision and values on them.  Thank you to Barron Aggregates for continuing to support us and providing the rocks.
