Room 7 have been learning about their local community. We found out that Bertram de Shotts was a ‘giant’ who robbed the people of Salsburgh and surrounding areas and was killed at Kate’s well by Willielmo De Muirhead. His head was taken to King James IV and Muirhead was rewarded for his bravery. We are going to visit Kate’s well to see where this took place.
We are enjoying learning about Salsburgh.
On the 16 june p4-p7 went on a trip to Adventure Planet. Everybody enjoyed themselves and even the teachers had a bit of fun going down the slides. We had juice and biscuits for our snack. Some of us bought ice cream as a treat. Afterwards we went to Palacerigg Country Park, a group of people all went down to see some animals. There were lots of rabbits and guinea pigs. We all really enjoyed it.
The Enterprise team successfully organised a quiz afternoon for our infants to raise money for our school funds. The infants had to work together in teams to answer maths, literacy and general knowledge questions. Greg was the quiz master and did a fantastic job. All the children had a great time and congratulations to the winning team – The 5 Amigos!
