Consultation regarding rezoning of Kirk O’Shotts Primary from Caldervale to Calderhead High
Consultation has begun regarding a proposal to vary the arrangements for transfer of pupils at Kirk O’Shotts Primary School from Caldervale High School to Calderhead High School by changing the catchment areas of Calderhead High School and Caldervale High School
A copy of the letter to Parents/Carers and statutory consultation document for the Kirk O’Shotts consultation is attached. Parents and carers should note that the current P7 cohort will not be affected by any of the proposed changes.
Parking issues
Xtra Mini Coach hire have contacted SPT regarding the wreckless parking by parents dropping pupils off which is resulting on occasions the driver having to double park. As the operator has sent images of parents parking in the bus stop outside school, SPT have advised the operator that the issue with parents parking in the bus stop is police matter. All parents are reminded that consideration should be given to allow the children on our bus to be dropped off in a safe manner at all times.
A S Scaffolding brings extra joy to our pupils at Christmas
Kirk O’Shotts Primary and Nursery Class received a surprise delivery from A S Scaffolders today in the way of a toy for every boy and girl in our school and nursery.
Andy Smilie owner of A S Scaffolding, set up the Emmie Smilie Charity Foundation in his daughter’s memory. This is a non-profit organisation that intends to fund several cancer charities.
This charity, along with the Donna Mortimer Ballantyne Charitable Trust has donated £750000 worth of toys to children in and around Glasgow to ensure all children have a happy Christmas.
Ms McAlinden in the nursery nominated our school and nursery for this project. We are very grateful to be included in this and would like to thank all involved for the lovely gifts our children received today.
PJ and Movie Day! 22nd December
Thanks to the Parent Council for running this event on Friday morning. They will provide each child with a bag with sweets, a drink and popcorn. Children have voted for their movie and the two most popular were Elf and Despicable Me 3 so we have decided to show both of these, one in the hall and one in the library. As Elf is a 12a only the children who have permission will be allowed to watch this. Pupils can bring a pillow if they like but chairs will be provided. Nursery children are invited to join the Despicable Me 3 showing if they choose to do so.
