We had great fun carrying out a “smell” experiment today. We used a blindfold to test how good our sense of smell was on its own!
“I can smell tomato sauce because i know it from my McDonalds” – Sean.
“I thought the vanilla smelled like caramel” – Stephanie.
“I love the smell of coffee” – Ben.
Primary 2 have been creating some “Optical Illusions” for their ‘Senses’ topic. Can you spot the 3D hand in these pictures?
The boys and girls have been working hard during literacy time to complete writing tasks linked to their reading books. Some children created a comic strip of their book, some wrote beginning, middle and ends and others answered questions about the text.

We had a great fun at our Christmas Party today. We looked fantastic and were showing off our brilliant dance moves!
P5 are feeling very festive after a fun-filled day of Christmas activities! They enjoyed making christmas silhouette pictures with black and white paper. Thank you for making them with us Mrs Inglis!

We also enjoyed our Christmas Party in all our fabulous outfits this afternoon. We played lots of different games, won prizes and enjoyed some yummy snacks.
P5 have had fun swimming and doing PE at the Tryst.
JA- I really liked when we got to swim on our backs and kick our legs.
Erin L and Macie- We really enjoyed the gym because we were learning handball skills and at the end we will get to play a game of handball.
Erin M and Chloe- It was really fun when we were swimming on our back. We are learning to do back stroke and front crawl.
P5 want to say thank you and that they really appreciate the opportunity to go swimming! We are so lucky!
Yesterday P4/5 had great fun learning about money! We used the Argos catalogues to find different things we would like to get for Christmas and worked out how much it would all cost. Mrs Fisher then gave us a budget and we had to try very hard to stay within it!
Primary 5 worked hard today to design new packaging for some Scottish Products. They learnt about what information needs to be part of the labelling products by law as well as other information we may include to encourage the customer to buy the product. We used recycled bottles and boxes to stick our new designs onto. Well done P5!
On Friday p1b wrote a recount of our visit to Cumbernauld Theatre. In order to become a successful learner p1 had to include a ‘when’, ‘who’ and ‘what’ in their recount and of course remember puntuation, finger spaces and spelling. Take a look at this week’s Star Writers. Well done everyone! 
We really enjoyed taking part in our recent drama lessons when we had to work with our peers on various tasks, such as writing a script and performing to an audience using mime. We had to look at an image of a little girl looking into a doll’s house that was full of little fairies and pixies. There were also sinister looking faces in the background and we had to try to work out how the girl got there in the first place , where the fairies came from and who did the sinister faces belong to.
