Building Bridges

P4/5 have been learning about the Battle of Stirling Bridge. Today we were set a challenge – to build a bridge using a choice of materials and see if it could hold a certain weight. We worked well together and became quite competitive! Have a look at our results.

Theme Park Posters

As part of our non-fiction block, we have been finding out about the important features of posters and leaflets,  looking at how organisations persuade and encourage customers to buy their good or services.  We had great fun looking at examples of posters and leaflets produced by theme parks, such as Alton Towers and Thorpe Park and decided to create our own theme park, creating attractive and interesting posters.

P2 Marvellous Multiplying!

Primary 2 worked hard today to learn some times table facts and recall them quickly. Some children played a timed SmartBoard game while others tried a times table board game. Some boys and girls even tried to complete a colour by number multiplication picture of a cowgirl! We also used playdough to help us create”groups of” items and this helped us visualise how to multiply.

Ready for Battle

P4/5 have been finding out about the Battle of Stirling Bridge which took place on the 11th of September in 1297. Scotland won! We compared the two armies and the tactics behind such a significant victory. We then had great fun trying on the chain mail and weapons both armies may have had.
