Today P1 helped prepare for Barney Bear’s birthday party by wrapping presents, practising party games, making decorations, cards and part food.
P7 have been learning about the European Union and how new laws are passed. Today we had a mock debate about creating a new EU law for age-restricted books. We heard some excellent arguments both for and against. I think we have a few politicians in the making!
P6/7 have been learning all about Europe and this week they enjoyed a taste of Italy with their delicious vegetable pizza dishes which they cooked in the learning kitchen.
We are all very excited for our badminton after school club that will begin today (Wednesday28/09). Everyone who returned their slip has been allocated a space but this means our club is now full. Look out for photographs to follow soon.
In nursery last week , the boys and girls had the opportunity to listen to three stories:” The elves and the shoemaker /Little Red Riding Hood and The Gigantic Turnip”. At the end of the session they had the opportunity to vote for their favourite story by placing a token into one of the boxes.
The winner was ………”Little Red Riding Hood” . The boys and girls are very excited to learn all about this traditional tale and participate in all the fantastic activities planned for this topic.
The boys and girls in the nursery had another opportunity to use the tomatoes from the tomato plant to make and taste Bruschetta ……Delicious !!
This week the boys and girls did a great job preparing the vegetables from the growing garden to make yummy vegetable macaroni pasta. Another tasty snack …so delicious and healthy!!
The boys and girls in the nursery worked really well together to make this fantastic clock to help them to sing “Hickory Dickory Dock”. They also used an i pad to listen to a longer version of the rhyme which involved lots of animals climbing up the clock and ended with a cheeky elephant, who was a bit too big and heavy !!!
Primary six pupils have been busy harvesting and cooking with the fantastic produce from our school gardens. The pupils made three different dishes using our home grown vegetables. They produced delicious couscous with courgette and onions and honey glazed carrots with beetroot. The most popular of all were the potato scones!
