Our hard working Parent Council have organised a Halloween disco as detailed above. You can pay the entry fee of £2 in advance to the school office. We hope to see you all at the Disco!
Open Event 1
A huge thank you to all of our parents/ carers, friends and family members that came along to support our 1st open event of the session. We very much look forward to working in partnership with you all.
Auchengeich Colliery 56th Annual Memorial Service
It was drizzly day as the choirs from Glenmanor and St Michael’s Primaries waited patiently for the service to begin. They sung beautifully ‘Give Me Joy in My Heart’ and ‘Going Home’ and their behaviour was excellent. Well done everyone!
There was a great turnout from the community to support the service.
Willie Doolan, Secretary opened the service and Danny Taylor, Chairman, remembered the 47 miners who lost their lives 56 years ago. David Collins, from Moodieburn & District played while the names were read out. Then there was the laying of the wreaths.
Rev Mark Malcolm read from the Bible then Elaine Smith, MSP, and Provost Jim Robertson, NLC, both read a dedication and Father Michael Briody said a prayer.
Nicky Wilson, President of NUM read a dedication and Captain John Parry, Salvation Army read the benedition at the end of the service.

Glenmanor Blog and Twitter Success
We have received over 30,000 visits and over 600 comments on our blog since we started using it in April, only 5 months ago.
We are delighted you are reading our posts on a regular basis and we hope you like what we are doing to keep you updated on the work of the school and nursery.
We have recently joined Twitter and you can also follow us @GlenmanorPS. We woud love to see every parent using this to keep updated on school events and acheivements.
Parents’ Open Event 18 September 2015
We are all looking forward to seeing you at our parents’ open event this Friday! Please arrive at 9 and join us in the hall for tea or coffee.
The Parent Council will launch their Christmas card activity that you can complete with your child during the open event.
Carolyn McKeown and Jacqueline Bryce, Adult Literacy and Numeracy Support Workers, will introduce themselves and ask how they can help you through a short questionnaire.
The bell will ring at 9.30am and our senior pupils will take you to the classrooms, starting with the ground floor and working upwards. You will see your child’s teacher and have the opportunity to join in your child’s learning until 10.30am. We hope to see you all there!
