We have introduced a Challenge Table in the nursery. Every week there is a new challenge that the boys and girls can come and try. This week they had to match colours and shapes. Everyone has really enjoyed having a go!
Well done boys and girls!

Well done boys and girls!
During maths time, P3 were learning about time. The children focused on o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to the hour. The class enjoyed sharing their previous knowledge about time and they enjoyed testing eachother. The class enjoyed using a hula hoop for the clock face and they moved around the playground in groups trying to make as many clocks as possible with different times. Primary 3 enjoyed learning in the glorious sunshine!
We used our knowledge of popular toys in the 80s and compared them to popular toys now. We created Venn diagrams to show the similarities and differences.
P1b had lots of fun today ordering numbers 1 – 10 through a selection of different play stations. Well done everyone!
P2/3 were learning about the probability of events happening and the different language that can be used. They learned that events can be certain to happen, can have a chance of happening and can be impossible and would never happen. They all enjoyed sorting some statements into these categories.
P4/5 have been looking at place value this week. As a challenge the children were given 4 single digits and asked to make as many different numbers as they could in one minute. The winners made 30 different numbers using their knowledge of thousands, hundreds, tens and units.
How many different numbers can you make using the digits 1, 2, 3 and 4 at home? Ask someone to time you!
We are learning all about nursery rhymes. This week we have enjoyed learning about Hickory Dickory Dock and Humpty Dumpty. We acted out our rhymes using puppets and props.
During maths time, some of the children worked in their group to solve maths counting problems using a fun game on the SmartBoard. They learned to count the tens and add the units.

Primary 5 were busy in maths today as they worked around different stations of our addition maths workshop.
Children enjoyed sharing their mental maths strategies with each other and playing with the loop cards.
Primary 5 also had lots of fun on the treasure hunt around the classroom searching for answers to some challenging addition sums.
We were learning to form the number 5 correctly. Some of us chose to write the number 5 on our new iPads while others painted the number 5. We did very well and we had lots of fun.
