Today we learned about a controversial issue: “Should wolves be reintroduced into the Scottish Highlands?” We researched both sides of the argument and created our own pieces of persuasive writing on the subject. We also published our writing using the class iPads. What do you think about bringing wolves back to Scotland?
These keen beans created their own fabulous poetry books for homework. Well done!
Today during IDL time, we learned some words in Swahili. Swahili is an African language spoken by around 120 million people. We learned how to say;
Hello – Jambo
How are you? – Habari gani?
A huge thank you to all of the parents who came along to join their children with some literacy activities on Friday. It was lovely seeing so many of you there. We are looking forward to another stay and play session this Friday. This week’s focus will be numeracy.
A massive well done to all P6 children for holding an excellent Burns Supper! Your hard work paid off and you all delivered your speeches, poems and songs clearly, confidently and with great expression.
If any family members have more pictures/videos, please email them into the school, we’d love to share them!
These hard workers earned themselves the title, “Star Writer” and a prize from the class treasure box! They managed to write discursively about their village, Moodiesburn.
We learned this catchy poem today.
It has many poetic devices such as rhyme, rhythm, repetition and onomatopoeia.
It’s called, ‘The Schoolkid Rap’ by John Foster.
We hope you like our rendition of it!
