As part of our outdoor and adventure P.E lessons, p1/2 went on a (Glen) bear hunt! We followed the clues around the sensory and memorial garden until we finally found him hiding in the shed!! I wonder where Glen will be hiding next week!

P1b make a Fairtrade breakfast!
Today p1b made a delicious breakfast using wholemeal bread, light cream cheese and Fairtrade bananas. It was so easy to make and we all enjoyed chopping the bananas (using the ‘claw’ technique) and spreading the cream cheese. Some of us didn’t like the taste but we all tried it!
P1b get messy!
This week p1b have been very busy creating some finger paint flowers for our art exhibition! We can’t wait for you all to see the finished product. Here is a little sneak peak….
P1b plants topic
As part of our topic ‘the Nectar Collector’ p1b will be learning about and investigating plants. Today we discussed what we already know about plants and what we would like to find out. We then went outside to look at the plants already growing in our school garden!
P1b ‘Play Maths’
This afternoon P1b were consolidating some of the maths concepts we have been learning in the past few weeks. We were investigating 3D shapes, directing the Beebots using positional language and playing many different addition games. During ‘play maths’ the children are given the choice of visiting any station they wish within the hour, as long as they visit them all at least once! We LOVE it!
P1 joint gym
Today primary 1a and 1b were learning to move an object to a target. We were working very hard on our focus and concentration skills!
Primary 1 ‘Road the Bethlehem’
On Wednesday Primary 1 visited Moodiesburn Church for a super event called ‘Road to Bethlehem’. The children learned all about the Christmas Story through crafts, singing and story telling. Thanks to Mark and all the helpers who organised such a magical event for the children. We all loved it!
P1b Star Writers!
On Friday p1b wrote a recount of our visit to Cumbernauld Theatre. In order to become a successful learner p1 had to include a ‘when’, ‘who’ and ‘what’ in their recount and of course remember puntuation, finger spaces and spelling. Take a look at this week’s Star Writers. Well done everyone! 
P1b Enterprise
Today p1b made outdoor Christmas decorations made from bird seed. We think that the Christmas robins and lots of other birds will enjoy these. We will be selling these at the Christmas Fair on Saturday. Hope to see you all there!
Primary 1b have been learning to add!
P1b have been learning to add 2 groups together. Today we played double dice addition and used cubes to help us. 12 cubes and a die have been sent home as part of the homework this week.
Players: 2
Rules: Roll the die. Count out the correct number of cubes. Repeat. How many cubes do you now have altogether?
We have been learning to write number sentences eg. 2 + 2 = 4 You can support your child by encouraging them to write the number sentence after each game of ‘Double Dice Addition’.
