P1/2 had great fun collecting signs of Autumn and used these (along with other interesting findings) to create some land art. The polytunnel was a great place to create our final pictures!

Reading in p1/2
P1/2 have been working hard during reading this week.
Maths Week in p1/2
P1/2 have had great fun this week during maths. We have been learning numbers to 10 and the primary 2s have been revising numbers to 20. During play maths, we also investigated shape and pattern. 😊
P1/2 try Taekwondo!
The boys and girls were very lucky to try out a class in Taekwondo! We had great fun!
P1/2 in the Learning Kitchen 🍲
On Thursday p1/2 learned how to make leek and potato soup. After we harvested a HUGE leek from the garden, we used the ‘claw’ chopping technique to chop it. We also used this technique to chop the potatoes too! Well done to the p2s who were able to use the ‘bridge’ technique to half each potato.
Well done everyone. You worked so hard and showed very responsible behaviour while working in the kitchen. 😃
Look at this technique! ⬆️
Very helpful boys washing up ⬆️
Say cheese! 😁⬆️
Stir, stir, stir the soup 🎶🍜
Halloween in p1/2
On Monday p1/2 got into the Hallowe’en festive spirit by carving a pumpkin! We used our knowledge of shape to decide on how our pumpkin’s face would look! Keep an eye out for photographs of our instructional writing on ‘How to Carve a Pumpkin’.
Active Literacy in p1/2
This week was a very busy one in p1/2. Here are a few photographs of us practising our common words during consolidation week. Our other fantastic spelling group are pictured doing their ‘shape spelling’ task with their new common words. What a hard working class we are! 📝
P1/2 getting the garden ready for Winter
Today p1/2 helped out in the garden by picking the runner beans and courgettes and clearing both beds. Not only did we have fun, we also learned lots while out in garden! We can’t wait to continue to take our learning outdoors next term. 🌲🍂🍁
P.E in p1/2
This week p1/2 developed our team work skills by playing the ‘mat challenge’. We had to get our team from one side of the hall to the other without putting our hands or feet on the ground. The only help we had was 2 mats and our teammates.
This was a big challenge but each child managed it amazingly well. Well done, p1/2! 👏🏻
P1/2 Star Writers
Well done to the boys and girls in p1/2 for writing fantastic stories about their families! Here are this week’s star writers.
