This leaflet was sent home today because all pupils were issued with a lunch card today. These are kept in school. Pupils need to add money to their cards before they can purchase breakfast, tuck or lunch. There is a machine to do this in the hall.
Parents will be able to add money online very soon. Details to follow.
When the online top-up becomes available will we be able to see the balance on the card or will we need to depend on the kids remembering to check after they have used them?

Hi, do you know when the online system will be up and running? It will be handy to be able to add funds online to top up cards.
I understand the system will take time to get used to, however, I hadn’t appreciated that the system meant complete cashless system and not running alongside cash payments too.
I am hoping that once the online system is up and running, I can top up funds so that Elena only has to wait in 2 queues at breakfast club, ie one to get her card and then one to queue for breakfast. It seems the last couple of mornings she has not had time to eat breakfast properly as she had to wait in the additional queue to add funds. She has put enough on for a few days now so that should help.

Hi Christine, the online system should have started on the same date as the cashless system. I am looking into why this hasn’t happened yet and will update you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience while we get used to this new system. I am sure it will get quicker and easier with time and the introduction of the online payments. Putting money on the card for more than one day is a good idea. Some parents are opting to put a week’s worth of food on the card and this has worked well. I am confident that the online system will be up and running soon!
Just wondered if there is any update on the online system yet? Looking forward to being able to check the balance and add funds when needed as having to note on calendar at the moment, how many days been paid! Also with being able to pay for any school trips online in future that be a help too. Thanks in advance.
Hi Christine, NLC have experienced technical difficulties and this has delayed the roll out to school. We have not been advised of a start date. I will post any updates as soon as I receive them.
