Dream Big, Work Hard, Shine Bright!
In healthy cooking we made a stir fry, it was led by a talented parent Mrs Taylor. Â At first we picked our choice of veg e.g cauliflower, peppers, carrots and more. Then we peeled the skin cut it up and added it to the stir fry sauce which was already prepared. It tasted delicious.
This week is the week of health week which happens every year in our school. We are involved in activities like: games , sport activities and talks. These photos were taking during a healthy games task in P.3 and P.7 .
Primary 3 have been receiving mysterious letters from Quentin the Quetzal! Quentin has asked primary 3 to transform the classroom into a rainforest. We will keep you updated on our progress with lots of pictures.

Today we went to a brand new part of this Playpark it was really fun we had sweets,crisps and played in the park and played lots of games.About a year ago everyone designed what to make to make the park better and whoever won got to cut the ribbon to open up a new thing with the golden scissors.It was a really fun little trip that we went to.

All the classes had a great time with our local Community Police Officers. Â They learnt about how the police force help us and the different jobs they do each day.
Worryingly, all the children particularly enjoyed going in the cell in the back of the police van.  🙂
Today is health week for our school and today for health week some of the classes learned about First Aid. Two people came and taught us about the recovery position and if you had a serious bleed. First it was the recovery position she told us what to do when someone was unconscious, it was fun.
Now it was about the serious bleeding we got wrap bandages round each other as if were bleeding.
This was a really interesting and fun thing to learn about.

We we have just finished our WWII topic and have learned about the world leaders, the blitz, propaganda posters, evacuation and even got to make our own spitfire models! We enjoyed our class novel ‘Adolphus tips’, which was all about a girl and her cat during the war.
We have loved this topic!
P4/5 shared their learning about children’s rights through ‘The Giant of Thistle Mountain’ global storyline. Their assembly to the whole school, parents and carers was such a great success that they won the coveted best village competition. So they had a party to celebrate!
P3 have learned all about Egyptian homes this week. Our job was to create a home from Lego in groups – we had to make sure they had a courtyard, a flat roof and high walls! Here we are in action!
Everyone at Glenboig enjoyed our sponsored reading time! Â Even Jannie Jim and the dinner ladies joined in! Â Thank you to everyone for their donations this will help fund the whole school summer trip.
Our class studied the classic children’s story – Peter Pan by JM Barrie. Â We had fun discussing the characters and setting today!
P4/5 have designed their own mascots for the Beatson Charity.
I wonder if they’ll win.
Primary 1 have learnt their first phoneme – “sh!”
This is the “Quiet Critters” favourite phoneme as it makes everyone be quiet, listen and work hard! Â Quiet Critters love to come out and watch children, they especially love when boys and girls are writing … but it must be quiet in the classroom or they are too frightened to venture out and observe the learning!
Look closely – you might spot one!
Primary Three have been learning all about Ancient Egypt. Here is what we have been doing… We learned about how shaduf’s were used and made our own models from straws, yoghurt pots and play-doh. We have also been busy creating Egyptian landmarks for our class wall display!
Thistle Mountain Village is taking shape in primary 4/5! Next week the villagers will move into the village. Primary 4/5 can’t wait.
Primary 4/5 are creating Thistle Mountain Village in their classroom. They have made a mountain chair lift, houses, trees and more; the village is really taking shape!
Today four students at Glenboig primary school went to violin class.
A piper visited our assembly this morning. She played Scotland the Brave and other songs. She was fantastic at playing the bagpipes. We felt amazed and inspired.
