Dream Big, Work Hard, Shine Bright!
Primary 3 have been learning about taste buds. Today we had some different fruits and tried to guess what they were. We also ate different kinds and colours of apple and tried to guess what kind they were too! We enjoyed it so much that we had the leftovers as a mini fruit salad after outdoor PE.
Primary 3 have been learning about their senses. Today we learned about taste!
We had the opportunity to taste some jelly beans that had some great flavours…and some that were not so great!
Primary 3 are always earning class award tokens for being polite and working hard. As a result, they have won class of the week so often that they earned a trip to the Neighbourhood House Café – but not before stopping to play at the park! Despite being a bit cloudy, it stayed lovely and dry. Here are some pictures from our morning out last Friday.
Primary 3 had a fantastic visit from Specsavers today! We learned lots about our eyes, how they work and how to look after them.
We also got some fabulous goody bags! We decided to spend the last 10 minutes of the day testing out our new frisbees.
Primary 3 showed their dramatic flair today by acting out scenes from traditional tales – without making any sound! They rose to the challenge and performed for the rest of the class, who tried to guess what story was being acted out.
Primary 3 have been learning about how our eyes work as part of our senses topic – today we investigated optical illusions!
Primary 3 have been getting creative with homework tasks – check out some of our instruments!
Today P3 used laptops to do taught writing. We wrote instructions to tell people how to make creepers like we did the other day.
During STEM week P3 enjoyed a visit from George, also known as The Shape Man. He taught us lots and lots about symmetry!
Primary 3 stepped up to our first STEM challenge today – assembling Minecraft creepers! We had to cut out 3D nets and put them together to create out creepers!
Primary 3 have been exploring scales and grams in maths!
Well done to the IT technicians and their new apprentice helping out with P2’s love assembly! Great job!
Primary 3 have been learning about the River Nile and its many uses in Ancient Egypt. We had a go at building our own shadufs, with great success! They held water and were free standing. We used string, straws, elastic bands and playdoh.
Primary 3 had a visit from some chefs today. We showed off our baking skills by making delicious flapjacks and learned lots about different fruits and vegetables!
Primary 3 became very interested in the Highland Games when learning about Scotland. We decided to throw our own Highland games in PE, which we all loved!
In teams we competed in the caber toss and shot put, and marched around the hall to bagpipe music. 
Primary 3 have been working hard in maths to create our own time related board games! We wrote the instructions on how to play for our weekly writing. They turned out so well that Miss Scott will be laminating the games so that everyone can play with them!
Primary 3 have been inspired by Alexander Graham Bell – the famous Scot who patented the telephone. We made our own telephones from cups and string and tested them out, with great success!!
