Promoting Positive Relationships

In Glenboig Primary we do lots to promote positive relationships. We worked with pupils and parents to create a system where all children were able to feel successful in school.

Firstly children have to be IN school to participate and succeed. To encourage the best possible attendance we monitor levels of attendance monthly.

We have four Glenboig house teams. Points are awarded for demonstrating our school values, wider achievements and excellent manners. At the end of each term, the winning house will earn a treat time together.

All children are regularly reminded of our school values to develop an understanding of how we apply these in our everyday lives.

Our whole school programme for Health and Wellbeing is called Emotion Works. The aim of this programme is to support children to identify and understand their own emotions and how to manage these day to day.

Our whole school is underpinned by our values and our expected behaviours. These are visible in every class and support our expectations of behaviour. We have clear steps to support unexpected behaviour should it arise and work in a proactive way with parents/carers and outside partners should additional levels of support be required.
