Primary 7 took part in the worldwide event Outdoor Classroom Day yesterday. Along with thousands of schools across the globe they spent the day learning outside. First primary 7 visited the forest near the school. They risk assessed the area and did some safety checks before joining teams. In their teams they constructed a shelter, encase it rained. They worked really well as a team and loved their dens so much they decided to have lunch in there. Next they walked to the local park, they were lucky with the weather and enjoyed running around in the sun. Their last task was to conduct an OPAL survey on tree health. They found their second forest base and worked in pairs to measure, categorise and assess the health of the local trees. It was a great day!
