Amazing Artists

Primary 5 have been learning about famous artists. We have been using their work to inspire us during Art and Design lessons.

Firstly, we learned about Gaudi, a famous architect from Spain. We used his mosaic style to create perfect pumpkins at Halloween time.

Secondly, we were inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his use of geometric shapes. We made a stained glass window similar to his rose design. We were very interested in the fact that he was a Scottish artist.

Lastly, we learned how to draw a portrait and created some sketches of the Scottish Inventors we covered in our topic.

We were inspired by all of the artists that we have learned about so far and have been able to compare their different styles and similarities in their work.
