Partners In Play

Partners in play have asked us to inform as many parents and families about the following:

Hello Friends of Partners in Play

Please forgive the bulk email, but we wanted to alert you to some work that we are undertaking with Partners in Play.

As most of you will know, Partners in Play provides a range of activities for children in Lanarkshire with additional support needs. They aim to help the children and families they work with to have access to the same social and recreational opportunities and activities as everyone else.  There are very few facilities within a reasonable travel distance and Partners in Play has a vision to create a high quality Adventure Play area for children and young people in or near Lanarkshire. It will be open to any members of the public but will also be designed to allow access to all (bringing together disabled and non-disabled children and young people).

We would be very grateful for your help with three things;

1.            We will be in touch very soon to arrange for a stakeholder and partner meeting.  We’d love to get you together to discuss the project
2.            We are holding an open meeting for families, carers, children and young people who would benefit from such a facility.  It will be from 6pm till 8pm at St. Margaret’s High School, Waverly Drive, Airdrie (Sports Hub Entrance).  .  If you are able to publicise this to your friends and members that would be a big help.
3.            We have designed a short survey for people who might use the facility.  It is vital that this receives a good response so we would be very grateful if you would publicise this to the people you know and work with in the area.  If you can put it in any newsletters and distribute via social media, that would be even better. Here is the link.

Thanks for your help with this.  It is an important part of securing a future for the project.

Cakes and Café

October 9, 2017 by User deactivated | 0 comments

Over the the last few weeks we have had a number of exciting events happening in the school.

On Friday 29th September we had a joint McMillan Coffee morning with OLGA Cathedral Primary which was a big success raising a lot of money for a very worthwhile cause.  A big thank you to all who attended as well as those who donated baking!

We have also been very lucky because Miss Coulter, Angela and Room 12 have started their ‘Rainbow Cafe’ which runs on a Friday.  The boys and girls are all invited to bring some money on a Friday and buy some tasty snacks and drinks prepared and served by our room 12 staff! Well done Room 12, you’re doing a super job so far!

This Wednesday we have our Harvest Assembly.  Afterwards we will all have the chance to sample porridge linked to National Porridge Day, encouraged by Mary’s Meals.

Thanks to all the families who have donated food for our harvest collection which will be donated to a local charity.  More pics and information will be online later this week.

Welcome Back!

It’s been a busy old start to our 2017-18 session.  The staff at Firpark Primary School would like to extend a big welcome to all the new families who have joined the Firpark Primary School Community.  Over the next few days we’ll start putting more content on the website and the Twitter account so you can keep up to date with what your child is doing in school.

Miss Grounds has been busy getting photos of all the pupils since they’ve returned so I’ll add that to this post so you can try and find your child!
