Maths Week

We have been busy participating in pattern for maths week. We have had great fun linking pattern across the curriculum and not just in maths. We have been writing some rhyming stories for taught writing, matching words that rhyme, making colour and shape patterns, movement patterns, and sound patterns.

The P2’s challenged their brains to make trickier patterns with different resources and looking at harder rhymes. We were counting in 10’s and 5’s number patterns. They played a game to find real and made up rhyming words and had great fun trying to work these out. Have a look at some of our work from maths week…

Emily – We were counting in tens.

Lillian – The ice cream cones we fun and I used a number line to help me.

Ruth – We went to stations and we used transport and animals to make our own patterns.

Lewis – We made patterns and we painted and we did loom bands.

Maxwell – We used peg board to make our patterns.

Evie – We made made our patterns harder by using 3 or 4 colours to challenge us.

Rory Moore – We were doing flags and rying to do patterns like blue yellow blue and we could also use some loom bands and painting to do some patterns.

William – We were sliding then running, sliding then running.

Rory – We went down to work with the other p1 class

Lyle – We made shape patterns
