Today in Maths we worked in pairs to create a firework display within a given budget and in a set time. . We then checked our work on the computer before watching the displays we had created. Whilst we were waiting to check our problem solving skills we wrote a firework simile p
On Wednesday we had an author come in and tell us about his book. He was called Stuart Reid. He was so funny and silly! The main character in his books is called Gorgeous George. He has written 3 books and the 4th one will come out next year. He read some of his books and they sounded silly and good. He has been to different school and just this year he was at London book fair. He talked about visualisation which is a reading strategy we do in class. It help us have a picture of parts of the book in our head – like a little movie. He also talked about alliteration which is words starting with the same letter e.g. silly snake slithers slowly, e.g. cautious cat creeps carefully . We learned a lot from him and are looking forward to our next story writing task!
