Primary 6 news this week

Monday we had our last badminton session with Euan. We have had a great time with Euan and he has helped us learn how to keep my eye on the shuttlecock, concentrate and hit over arm and underarm. We are now more skilled at badminton.

In maths this week we have been doing more measuring. We looked at lots of shapes and worked out the perimeter and area of shapes. The perimeter is the length of all the sides added together and the area of a square or rectangle is the length times the height.

We have started tennis in PE so for a maths homework task we did some tennis related questions. They were hard because we had to really think about the operations we would need to use. Some questions had lots of different steps.

On Friday we went and learned the Commonwealth dance with P3. It was epic. We can’t believe there were lots of different countries doing it at the same time.

In the afternoon we got all the art supplies out and decorated our jazzy jars for the school fayre tomorrow. Our classroom was a mess but the jars looked brilliant! We did tidy up….promise!

Highlight this week was our visit to the high school. We went and met mr Jopling then did maths and science. We got a good website in maths to practise and did work on coordinates. In science we put the metal magnesium into fire and it shined really bright. We had to wear safety goggles!

It’s been a good and busy week. We learned lots of new things.
