I started writing this blog before Christmas then I had to go home ill! This is me only getting round to finishing it now!
In September this year (now last year!) I drew a picture that was going to be entered in the North Lanarkshire calendar competition. I drew a picture of a haunted house which I called The Halloween House. When I drew it I did not feel like it was my best drawing but it obviously was. I actually got the idea off of Louise and then made her idea my own with my own ideas. My house was 3D with the dark sky meeting with the green grass. It also had pumpkins and bats. I got an idea to give it a name when, the day before our class assembly, Mrs Woodward came in and asked what I would call my house. The next day it was our class assembly. It was good fun but at the end it got even better because Mrs Woodward, the head teacher came on and announced to all the parents, teachers and me in front of the whole school that I had won for the month of October. Apparently I had the biggest smile I had ever had in the whole ten years of my life. On the 13th of November I went to the North Lanarkshire offices with Mrs Woodward to get a photo taken. Some of the art work by the High School kids were great. My favourite piece was a drawing called Padlock. On Tuesday 18 December I went to the North Lanarkshire Offices with my mum, dad, sister and Miss Rae to get a prize and a certificate for my drawing. At the presentation it was really fun. There was refreshments, speeches by people that work for North Lanarkshire, a photographer taking pictures of me with my art work. I got called up to get my prize. The prize was great. I got a pack of Staedtler sketching pencils. The pack included B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, and 6B. I also got a pack of coloured pencils, and Berol pack of wax crayons. I also got very high quality paper. The day was great.
