Christmas Maths

We have been doing some fun Christmas maths activities this week! They were so fun and we all enjoyed doing it. We had 4 stations to visit all testing different maths skills. The first one was sorting the stamps and seeing which houses could get their cards. We only had 5p stamps and and 3p stamps and each house needed stamps that equalled the house number. This means house number 9 would have needed 9p, house 38 needed 38p and so on. Not every house could get their card because we couldn’t make 7p with a 5p and a 3p stamp. Lots didn’t get cards!

The second one was the twelve days of Christmas, it had on it lots of questions all about the song and we were to work out the answer them.

The third one was room for reindeer. Here we had to make rooms for a certain number of reindeer. We had to measure the distance of all the sides then work out the perimeter.

I enjoyed room for reindeers the most! (Lewis)

The fourth one was when we had to look at Argos catalogues and search for christmas presents within our budget. It was really fun and very cool.

(Kacey) I found the mums shopping list hard!

  1. It’s good to see you are all still working hard right until the end of term. I hope you all kept within your budgets!!

  2. I think with all that work, you can help me with the budgets for the Christmas parties next year.
Well done on all your work for advertising the nativity and creating our tickets
