Gymnastics

Over the past two weeks Miss Duncan has been taking us for gymnastics. Miss Duncan is a gymnast and knows lots about it.

We always warm up our muscles and stretch before we start.  On the first week we did a circuit of activities that you can see in our pictures. This week we were developing our forward roll techniques, working on our balance and breaking some fears on the wall bars.

Mapping Skills

Primary 3a have started their new topic on the Rainforest.

In the pictures below you will see them working with a variety of media, in order to locate Rainforests all over the world.

Some children used globes, others used Google Earth and some used an atlas. Lots of skills being developed with this activity.

Badminton – More challenges!!

The pictures below show one of the girls in the class teaching the rest of the children a new game as a  warm-up task. It was well organised and competently delivered to a willing bunch of children who really enjoyed playing it.

Next we had a go at counting how many times we could keep up the shuttlecock.  This was a lot harder than it looked.

Finally we moved on to some competition time with boys versus girls. The aim was to serve the shuttlecock into the target area to gain points for our team. We got very excited when we landed in the target!!
