Today we are finding out about materials.

 

Some materials we know are…

glass

tile

wood

metal – steel, copper, aluminium, titanium

leather

sponge

wool

ribbon

 

We have been on a materials hunt in our classroom.

 

Metal is really cold and hard.  You can’t see through it.

Glass is transparent.  You can see through it.

Paper is floppy.

Plastic can be used to make boxes to put things in.  It won’t rip like paper and it is strong.

Wood can be used to make crates.  You can’t see through it.  Wood can be used to build houses sometimes.  You can use wood to build a frame of a house.

 

We are looking forward to finding out more about materials and their properties in our topic.

We did 3 different dances including the Gay Gordons, The Dashing White Sergeant and Strip the Willow.  We played musical arms, pass the parcel and corners.  Brodie was the winner of Corners. Some people thought it was the best party we have had.

Brodie – I thought everyone looked groovy!

Angus – I thought the party was the most fun I had ever had.

Ava – I really enjoyed the party.

Bethany – I liked the ice cream.

Josh – I thought the party was amazing.

Isla – I had great fun.
