Our Scottish IDL

Scottish IDL

Primary ¾ have been learning about Julia Donaldson and Dr. Henry Faulds.

Who are they I hear you ask ?

Well, Julia Donaldson is a fantastic author. She has written lots of wonderful books, like the Gruffalo, Stick Man, The Gruffalo’s child and Zog.

Dr. Henry Faulds is a scientist who discovered that everyone’s fingerprints are different and unique.

We have been looking at these people because they are Scottish, amazing and famous Scots we are proud of.

Some of the activities we have been doing. We made our own monsters in order to meet the Gruffalo. We then used puppet pals to film the story and this was really good fun.

We have made and finished our front covers of our favourite Julia Donaldson’s book and we did some information handling. We have gone around the classes surveying what everyone’s favourite Julia Donaldson book is.

We also made Wanted posters about what good qualities our friends have. This was really exciting and we got to look at our fingerprints up close.

For more information please wait until Friday, as we will be doing our Class assembly.

  1. What a busy class you are. I wonder what was the favourite Julia Donaldson book in the whole school.
We are looking forward to seeing your assembly on Friday. It sounds like you have been working really hard for it!
