This week we have started to learn about symmetry.
Yesterday we learned that different objects, items and shapes can be symmetrical. If something is symmetrical it means it is the same on each side when you cut or fold it through the middle.
We took photos, using the iPads, of different items around the class that showed symmetry.
Today, we used the pictures to find out how many lines of symmetry they had. We separated them into ones with one line of symmetry, none and more than one.
We stuck them on and displayed them on a poster.
Learning about symmetry is really fun and I can’t wait to do some more. I realised there is symmetry in my taekwon-do pattern I am learning just now. The pattern is called Won Hyo and I do the same techniques in each direction.
