Our Assembly and Scottish Day by Cairan (scribed by Mr Furlong)

P4 had our Class assembly on Burns Day. We told the story of Robert Burns and told some of his poems and heard some of his songs.
Finlay was Robert’s Dad and had to carry a spade to show that he was a gardner. We had lots of fun and our families came to see us.
I had fun because I had to carry a dragon.
At Scottish day I had to tell all our visitors what songs and poems my class had to sing and say. I felt very proud to do that. We sang 2 songs and said 2 poems. This is the first time I have done something at Scottish afternoon.

After we were on stage we went back to class and we had lots of scottish things to do. We got to taste haggis, dumpling, shortbread, pancakes, tablet and oatcakes with cheese. It was yummy. We had to butter our pancakes and oatcakes ourselves. I really liked this.
