Our trip to People’s Palace & The Riverside Museum

This week, on Tuesday Primary 3/4 went on a school trip.

We went to the People’s Palace & The Riverside Museum. Our IDL at the moment is the 70s so we went to these places to see some 70s items.

At the People’s Palace we were split into 4 groups and we went to different levels.

The People’s  Palace was interesting, we learned that it is set in a place called Glasgow Green, which is a big park. It has a massive fountain which features Queen Victoria. Inside there are different things about Glasgow from different times, which were cool.

We saw an old Steamie, which was where people washed clothes, a room from the olden times, an air raid shelter and some other war items.

We loved putting our faces through the postcard board, as you’ll see from the photos.

After we had a great time there, we got back on the bus and went to the Riverside Museum, which has lots of old fashioned transport.

There we were amazed by the huge trams, trains and buses. We were allowed to go on a couple of trams which were really fun. We were also able to go on a subway train and walk down an old fashioned street, popping into the shops to learn about different things. We loved seeing the 70s style bikes, skateboards and cars, as well as old toys & clothes.

We even got to go on the tall ship and scrub the deck. We went down the stairs in the tall ship, we saw cargo nets and cannon balls, which was awesome. Joey was pretending he was the captain, and kept making us scrub the deck. There was a large bell & everyone of us rang it.

We had such a good time, we wish we could do it every day
