The Lighthouse Keeper’s Picnic

We made patterned hot air balloon, some of us used chalk, some of us used pen and some of us used collage. They look amazing.

We also made persuasive posters to advertise the picnic; we had to make it sound really interesting.

As we have been looking at speech this week we made a conversation between Mr. and Mrs. Grinling. We used speech bubbles to show what they were saying.

Lastly we made tasty menus to show everyone what food what the picnic.

We really liked this book and we even got to play drama games after reading it.

Miss McGregor was so impressed with how hard we worked we were allowed to play some team games with the parachute. We hope the sun stays for the rest of the Primary 3!

Super subtraction

In maths we have been working on subtraction chimney sums. They were a bit more difficult this time because we had to exchange. This is when we have to take a bigger number from a smaller number in the units column. We can’t do this so we need to exchange 1 ten for 10 units. We have been working on the sums on paper, the smart board and outside using chalk. We are getting better at them each time and we are looking forward to doing some more of these sums next week.

It was hard setting the sums out-Calum H

We all enjoyed it-Kyle

It was tricky at first but then we managed to do it-Hannah

It was fun-Jaeden

You had to exchange the number and change the ten number-Robyn

It was very confusing at first-Christie

Some of us made silly mistakes with the answers so we need to work on our take away sums-Aaron

Now we know subtractions with exchanging-Paul

We managed to do all the sums-Eva

I feel happy because we got it right-Alfie

Here are the sums we did outside.

A day in history

Today was special day because there was an eclipse. This is when the moon travels in front of the sun blocking some of the sunlight. It was very cloudy today so we didn’t go outside but we got to watch it on the IWB. This let us see it very clear and we were able to watch the full eclipse.
